The senior finished 5-under overall; GW took third place as a team
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – After shooting consecutive rounds in the 60s to open play at the Bash at the Beach Invitational in Myrtle Beach, senior Logan Lowe went into Tuesday's final round with a one-shot lead and a host of competitors well within striking distance.
Lowe, a three-time champion heading into the tournament, didn't have his best stuff early in the day, and found himself two shots out of the lead when he made three bogeys in the first four holes. The California native birdied number seven to make the turn at 2-over par, but then mixed a par, birdie and three bogeys over the first five holes on the back nine to again sit two shots back with four to play.
Like the experienced winner he is, Lowe found a way to climb back to the top. The senior birdied 16 and 17 before making par on the 206-yard par 3 18th, staking his claim as Co-Champion with Simon Zach of Louisville and John Hill of Incarnate Word at 5-under.
First-year Logan Othmer recorded his second career top-20 and best score in a 54-hole event, finishing +3 and tied for 16th. As a team, the Colonials slipped to third place with a 298 on Tuesday to finish +7 overall. Jacksonville State (-2) edged Wake Forest (-1) for the title.
