The senior is 7-under par after rounds of 69 and 66; GW in second place as a team
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Back at the venue where he claimed his first collegiate win two years ago, senior Logan Lowe has himself in position to become a two-time champ at the Bash at the Beach Invitational after a sterling performance on Monday.
Â
Lowe worked his way around the Par 71 Surf Golf and Beach Club for a 2-under 69 in the morning, before coming back in the afternoon with a 5-under 66 to vault himself to a one-shot lead heading into Tuesday's final round.
Â
While Lowe led the way, his teammates chipped in to make it a memorable afternoon. The Colonials carded a 10-under par 274 as a team in the second round, with all four scoring players shooting under par. Junior Adrian Castagnola shot a 3-under 68, while sophomore Clifford Thompson and first-year Logan Othmer carded a 1-under 70. After shooting 3-over in round one, GW is in second-place on the team leaderboard at 7-under overall, trailing only Jacksonville State at 14-under.
Â
The Colonials are set to tee off the third and final round beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Lowe anchors GW with a 10:06 tee time and will look to protect his lead over a group which includes Louisville's Simon Zach at 6-under. Two other competitors are a couple shots back.
