Sara Grubac Named A-10 Co-Player of the Week

Senior lifts women’s tennis to perfect weekend
WASHINGTON – George Washington women's tennis senior Sara Grubac has been named Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday morning.
Grubac was part of a complete team effort that saw the Colonials take an impressive 6-1 win over local foe Maryland on Saturday afternoon in College Park.
The Belgrade, Serbia, native first helped GW take the doubles point by partnering with Katarina Marinkovikj for a 6-2 win in the No. 2 spot before topping Maryland's Mille Stretton in singles action with her 2-6, 7-6, 10-8 comeback victory.
The senior was one of four Colonials to finish the weekend without dropping a match as GW also knocked off Howard on Friday. She was joined by teammates Maria Siopacha, Melis Bayraktaoglu, Xenia de Luna and Marinkovikj.
GW will be back in action on Feb. 16 when its face Navy at 2 p.m. in Annapolis.
