GW Women’s Tennis to Open A-10 Play

Colonials prepare for first bouts at Fordham and Duquesne
SERVING FIRST: The George Washington University women's tennis team is set for its first pair of Atlantic 10 matches this season. The Buff and Blue will first play at Fordham on Friday at 12 p.m. before heading to Duquesne on Sunday for a 10 a.m. matchup.
LAST TIME OUT: The Colonials' three match win streak was halted in losses to Drexel (4-3) and William and Mary (7-0) last weekend. GW's wins against the Dragons came in the middle of the lineup, with Sara Grubac, Katarina Marinkovikj, and Xenia de Luna all notching straight sets victories in singles play.
ABOUT FORDHAM: The Rams earned split results last weekend, first falling 4-1 to Army West Point before rebounding to sweep St. Bonaventure, 7-0. This season, Fordham is 3-4 overall and has also posted wins over Quinnipiac and Seton Hall.
ABOUT DUQUESNE: The Dukes are coming off back-to-back wins over Cleveland State and Davidson. Duquesne holds a 6-4 record, having also defeated St. Francis, Youngstown State, Buffalo and Towson.
LAST MEETING: Last season, GW defeated Fordham (6-1) and Duquesne (4-3).
