Lacrosse Kicks Off Fall Ball This Weekend

Colonials look to prepare for competitive spring season
WASHINGTON – The George Washington lacrosse team is set to begin its fall ball season this weekend as part of a 12-game, five-date schedule.
The Colonials open their fall ball slate on Saturday by hosting the first GW Play Day, where they will face Radford (11:30 a.m.), Drexel (3:30 p.m.) and Catholic (5:30 p.m.) at the GW Lacrosse Field on the Mount Vernon Campus.
The squad will then head to Philadelphia for the LaSalle Play Day a week later on Oct. 6 to face American (12:15 p.m.), Saint Francis (2:30) and Monmouth (4:45 p.m.). GW will close out its weekend at Temple Play Day with bouts against Temple (11 a.m.) and Wales (12:20 p.m.) on Oct. 7.
The Buff and Blue will then go head-to-head with Niagara on Oct. 14, before closing out their fall ball schedule on Oct. 20 at the George Mason Play Day. At Mason, the Colonials will have the opportunity to face top Atlantic 10 opponents, including Richmond (9 a.m.), VCU (11 a.m.) and Duquesne (12 p.m.).

Under the direction of fifth-year head coach Tracy Coyne, GW returns 21 letterwinners from last year's squad and welcomes ten newcomers.
