Women's Tennis to Face Pair of A-10 Opponents

SERVING FIRST: The George Washington women's tennis squad will face a pair of Atlantic 10 opponents this week, first welcoming Fordham to the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center on Thursday at 10 a.m. before traveling to Richmond to go head-to-head with VCU on Saturday at noon.
LAST TIME OUT: The Colonials went 1-2 over the weekend, defeating Rhode Island, 5-2, and falling to CSUN (5-2) and James Madison (7-0). Juniors Victoria Kogan and Sara Grubac finished the weekend with two singles victories each.
ABOUT FORDHAM: The Rams (4-6) are coming off of a loss to Bethune-Cookman on Tuesday, falling to the Wildcats, 5-2. GW will be Fordham's second conference opponent this season. The Rams previously defeated Saint Louis on March 2, 6-1.
SERIES HISTORY: The Colonials boast a perfect 6-0 record against the Rams dating back to their first meeting in 2002. GW last met Fordham in 2014 when it took the 4-1 victory in New York.
ABOUT VCU: The Rams (11-3) saw their nine-match win streak halted on Saturday after dropping their match, 5-2, to East Tennessee State.
SERIES HISTORY: GW fell to VCU, 7-0, last season. Kamilla Beisenova and Maria Siopacha both pushed their matches to three sets, but ultimately came up short.
