WASHINGTON - George Washington softball stayed perfect on its home field with another doubleheader sweep Friday to begin its Buff and Blue Challenge.
Sarah Costlow tossed a one-hit shutout to help the Colonials drop Lafayette, 9-0, in five innings to start the day at GW Softball Field on the Mount Vernon Campus before they used a 10-run fourth inning to come from behind and beat Brown, 14-9, in the nightcap.
Alessandra Ponce hit for the cycle over the doubleheader with a triple against Lafayette and a single, double and home run against Brown, while Jenna Cone continued her recent tear with three hits and five RBIs between the two victories.
