Volleyball Heads to Fordham, URI This Weekend

Colonials close out regular season on Friday, Saturday
WASHINGTON - GW volleyball wraps up its regular season this weekend on the road against Fordham and Rhode Island. The Colonials travel to the Bronx on Friday at 3 p.m. before visiting URI on Saturday at 7 p.m.
LAST WEEKEND: The Colonials pushed first-place VCU in the first two sets on Friday before ultimately falling in straight sets. GW then snapped its skid with a dominant three-set win over Davidson to earn its third conference win of the campaign. Junior Skylar Iott hit .244 in each match, racking up 33 kills in the six sets.
ACROSS THE NET: GW faces Fordham and Rhode Island for the second time this season, having split the first weekend at the Smith Center on Oct. 5-6.
Fordham has dropped seven straight matches entering Friday's match, including being swept in its lone contest last weekend at Rhode Island. The Rams boasted a conference season-best .356 attack percentage en route to a four-set win over GW in October. Kaitlin Morley leads Fordham with 3.39 kills per set while hitting .195.
URI snapped an eight-game skid with a straight-set win over Fordham last weekend. GW swept the Rams earlier this year behind a conference season-best .275 attack percentage. Natale Zanellato is the team's top threat offensively, hitting .166 with a team-leading .280 kills per set.
LEE-DING THE WAY: Junior setter Jaimeson Lee has arguably been GW's most complete player this season, leading the team in assists and ranking second in digs and blocks. Lee has posted three double-doubles in the last four matches entering the weekend, increasing her season-long total to 14.
