Volleyball Sweeps Davidson on Senior Day

Lete posts career day in final home match at the Smith Center
WASHINGTON – GW volleyball honored seniors Kelsey Clark and Alexis Lete prior to Saturday's match with Davidson and then proceeded to sweep the Wildcats in the final home match of the season.

Key Stats
• Lete matched her career best with 11 kills, attacking .588. She added four digs and five block assists in her final match at the Smith Center.
• GW (9-15, 3-9) posted one of its better attacking days this year, hitting .250 (48k-18e-120a) to .213 (36k-13e-108) for Davidson (12-12, 5-8).
• Junior Skylar Iott notched a double-double with 18 kills and 10 digs, hitting .244 in the process.
• The Colonials posted advantages in nearly every statistical category, leading in kills (48-36), assists (45-35), digs (56-50), blocks (9.0-5.0), and service aces (7-2).
• All three of GW's conference victories this season have come in straight sets.

How it Happened
Set 1: GW 27, Davidson 25
• GW faced a set point at 24-23, but responded to tie the match on a kill from Iott. After an exchange of service errors, the Colonials received a kill from first-year Paz Dozie-Nnamah and a block from Lee and Lete to claim the first set.
• Iott was rolling early, hitting .357 with seven kills in the opening stanza.
Set 2: GW 25, Davidson 20
• GW utilized four service aces to consistently stay in front of Davidson, leading the set from wire-to-wire.
• The Colonials also registered five blocks in the second set with three block assists from Lete and a pair from Iott and Lee, respectively.
Set 3: GW 25, Davidson 20
• GW finished the match off with a 19-kill performance in the third set, five of which came from Lete, who hit .571 in the stanza.
• Lee distributed assists on 15 of the 19 kills, including the game-clinching attack from Lete to seal the sweep.
