Bowman Named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week

First-year libero earns second honor of initial season
WASHINGTON- GW first-year libero Bella Bowman finished out her initial season in the Buff & Blue by being named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on Monday. It is the second time this season Bowman has earned the award, also winning it for the week of Sept. 10-16.
Bowman reset her career high in digs twice over the weekend at Fordham and Rhode Island, topping her previous best of 32. The Louisville, Ky., native started the weekend with 34 digs on Friday at Fordham while also racking up three service aces. A day later, Bowman topped that performance with 36 digs in the five-set triumph against Rhode Island, also adding a pair of aces.
Overall, Bowman racked up 7.0 digs per set for the weekend and finished her first campaign with GW averaging a team-leading 4.64 digs per set while playing all 102 sets for the Colonials. She was one of just two players on the team to appear in every set this year for GW.
The Colonials finished the campaign on a three-game winning streak to end the year at 11-15 and 5-9 in conference play.
