Colonials honored for academic excellence in 2017-2018

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Five George Washington softball student-athletes have been honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association as 2017-2018 Easton/NFCA Scholar Athletes.

Senior Riley Tejcek, juniors Jessica Linquist and Faith Weber and recent graduates Rochelle Draper and Ashley Pilcher were among 1,311 individuals across NCAA Division I recognized by the NFCA on Wednesday for earning a grade point average of 3.5 or higher last school year.

Draper was honored for the third straight year for her academic excellence en route to a degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Science, while Tejcek, Linquist and Weber were recognized for the second time. It was the first honor for Pilcher, who graduated in May with a degree in Exercise Science.
