Adrian Castagnola finished tied for ninth
Golf Finishes Strong at Elon Phoenix Invitational

Lowe, Castagnola record top-10 finishes
BURLINGTON, N.C. – The GW golf team wrapped up play at the Elon Phoenix Invitational on Tuesday by posting their lowest team score of the tournament with a 3-under par 281, while senior Logan Lowe and junior Adrian Castagnola recorded top-10 individual finishes.

Lowe continued his consistent play with a third top-five finish in four tournaments this fall with a 6-under par 207. The California native opened the tournament with an even par 71 before shooting back-to-back rounds of 68, with the latter moving him from eighth place into a tie for fifth. Castagnola responded from an opening round 72 by carding 70 and 69 to finish tied for ninth with a 2-under total of 211.

The Colonials, who opened the tournament with a 7-over par 291, shaved five strokes off their score in each of the next two rounds. First-years Logan Othmer and Luis Preciado contributed to the final round 281 after shooting 70 and 74, respectively. GW finished in 10th place as a team with a 6-over 858 while host Elon took the title with a 9-under 843. The Phoenix's William Harwood shot a 10-under 203 to claim individual medalist honors.

GW is set to cap its fall season in style with a trip to Hawaii for the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational. Play gets underway on Nov. 2 and continues through Nov. 4.
