Cross Country in Action at Two Meets This Weekend

ON THE LINE: The George Washington cross country team will split its men's and women's programs for a pair of meets this weekend. The action kicks off on Friday when the Colonials compete at the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University, followed by the George Mason Invitational at Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, Virginia, on Saturday.
Both men's races this weekend will be 8,000 meters while each women's installment will be 5,000 meters.
LAST TIME OUT: Both teams return to action this weekend for the first time since the William & Mary Invitational on September 15.
The men's team finished second out of seven teams, led by a pair of top-ten finishes from graduate student Matt Lange (4th) and senior Carter Day (8th).
The women placed fourth out of eight teams with juniors Halley Brown (6th), Madison Yerke (8th) and Suzanne Dannheim (13th) all finishing in the top-15.
REGIONAL RANKS:The women's team maintained its current regional ranking of 12th in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Mid-Atlantic Regional Poll this week.
The Colonials have been ranked in each of the first four polls of the regular season.
