Lacrosse Begins Fall Ball This Weekend

WASHINGTON -- The George Washington lacrosse team is set to begin its fall ball season this weekend as part of a nine-game, six-date schedule.
The Colonials open their fall ball schedule by hosting St. Francis (Pa.) on Sunday, September 24 at 1:15 p.m. at the GW Lacrosse Field on the Mount Vernon Campus. One week later, GW will play host again in back-to-back competition against William & Mary (1:15 p.m.) and local-foe American (3:45 p.m.) on Saturday, September 30.
The Buff and Blue will then scrimmage at Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, October 7 at 10:00 a.m. before taking part in the Navy Invitational (Oct. 14-15) the following weekend. The Colonials will play two games each day, starting with games against San Diego State (2:00 p.m.) and Virginia Tech (4:00 p.m.) on day one of competition, and Arizona State (11:00 a.m.) and Coastal Carolina (1:00 p.m.) on day two of the invitational.
GW closes out its fall ball schedule with an Alumnae Game on Saturday, October 21. Opening draw is set for 9:30 a.m. at the GW Lacrosse Field.
Under the direction of fourth-year head coach Tracy Coyne, GW returns 17 letterwinners from last year's squad and welcomes 11 newcomers.
