Volleyball Hosts Maryland Eastern Shore on Tuesday night

LEADING OFF: The GW volleyball team will wrap its current homestand by hosting Maryland Eastern Shore on Tuesday night for a non-conference match at the Charles E. Smith Center. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
HOME COOKING: GW finished 2-1 at this past weekend's home tournament with a pair of wins over Holy Cross and Delaware. The Colonials easily dispatched of the Crusaders in a three-set sweep early Friday afternoon before outlasting the Blue Hens in five sets in the nightcap.
CLARK'S BIG WEEKEND: Junior Kelsey Clark was named to the All-Tournament Team on Saturday after leading the Colonials throughout the weekend.
The Chicago native swung .404 over the three matches with 30 kills and 10.0 total blocks. She averaged 2.73 kills and 0.91 blocks per set while accumulating 37.0 points over the weekend.
Clark's best match of the weekend came against Delaware where she put down 15 kills with zero errors for a career-high attack percentage of .714. She also added five digs and five blocks (one solo, four assists) in the 3-2 win over the Blue Hens.
THE SERIES: GW leads the all-time series against Maryland Eastern Shore by a 6-1 margin following last season's 3-0 sweep at the Cougar Classic at Washington State University.
The Hawks' lone win in the series came during the 2007 season.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN: Following Tuesday's match the Colonials will play their next seven matches on the road and will not return to the Smith Center until Friday, October 13 against VCU.
Despite the long spell away from their home court, two of the next seven matches will be contested within city limits with visits to Howard (Oct. 3) and American (Oct. 11).
