SETTING SAIL: The GW sailing team will compete in three regattas this weekend, including its first women's competition of the season in the Stu Nelson at Connecticut College. Additionally, the Colonials will head to a pair of major coed regattas in the Hatch Brown at MIT and Nevins Trophy at Kings Point, each of which feature three divisions.
STU NELSON AT CONNECTICUT COLLEGE: Miranda Bakos and Belle Strachan sail in A Division while Riley Legault and Alexandra Fayer will compete in B Division. The interconference regatta will feature a tough field of teams from New England.
HATCH BROWN AT MIT: Sailing for GW will be Derek Poon Tip and Shira Golub (A Division); Wade Wagner and Mercedes McPhee (B Division); and Sam White and Andreea Ranney-Pace (C Division). Zach Lehan will serve as an alternate.
NEVINS TROPHY AT KINGS POINT: Kai Friesecke and Tanner Chapko sail in A Division; Andrew Sheerin and Matt Homa in B Division; and Soenke Jordan and Sarah Noyes in C Division.
BILLY'S BULLETS: "Our depth will be challenged this weekend with these tough regatta assignments and matchups; between the three we have 17 sailors on the road," said head coach Billy Martin. "This weekend is simple: get on the road, get sailors on the water, and get better. This weekend will set the tone for the entire fall semester, and is a great opportunity for our sailors to show their talent."
