WASHINGTON - The George Washington softball squad continues a stretch of five-consecutive road games over the weekend with a three-game series at Atlantic 10 foe La Salle.
The Buff and Blue swept Coppin State in doubleheader play on Wednesday, pounding out 28 hits between the two games.
The Colonials lead the conference with a team .308 batting average, led by freshman Jenna Cone's .369 mark. Cone sits atop the A-10 with a program-record 14 home runs and is tied for most in the league with 43 RBI.
Senior Megan Linn (.355) became GW's all-time career hits leader on Wednesday, besting Victoria Valos' ('15) mark of 206. Linn enters the weekend with 211 career hits.
Junior Sarah Costlow (7-5) ranks fourth in the A-10 with an ERA of 2.12, leading GW's staff. Costlow became the program's all-time career wins leader last weekend, taking a victory over Massachusetts to notch her 37th career triumph.
La Salle most recently split a mid-week doubleheader at Lafayette on Wednesday. Marlo Roadcap ranks third in the league with 93 strikeouts in 78.1 innings of work and eighth in the A-10 with a 2.68 ERA. The Explorers are batting .261 as a squad.
