For the first time in program history, the GW sailing team is ranked in the top 5 of Sailing World's college coed rankings.
The Colonials check in at No. 5 in the latest coed top-20 poll, which is voted on by coaches, behind Yale, Georgetown, Boston College and Navy.
"It's a huge honor to be considered among the top five teams in the country, but at the end of the day it's just a number," said head coach Billy Martin. "I'm more proud that the team has been working hard on the water everyday and improving. I'm excited about what this team is capable of come championship time."
GW has kept a busy schedule of late competing mostly in team racing, an event in which they have recorded three top 5 finishes in the last two weekends.
