Sailing Closes Fall Season at Atlantic Coast Championships
11/9/2017 12:00:00 AM | Sailing
The GW sailing team is set to close its fall season this weekend as it sends teams to compete in the coed and women's Atlantic Coast Championships.
The competition pits the top 18 teams from the MAISA, NEISA and SAISA conferences. This marks the fifth straight year GW's women have qualified for ACCs and the third consecutive year both the coed and women's teams made it. GW qualified by virtue of winning the women's MAISA championship and finishing third at the MAISA coed championship.
Last season, the women took 10th place while the coed squad was 11th. The Colonials head into this year's event with both teams ranked in the top-10 of Sailing World's national rankings; the women are seventh while the coed squad is eighth.
