WASHINGTON - The George Washington volleyball team opened the final weekend of the regular season on Friday afternoon with a 3-0 loss to visiting Dayton at the Charles E. Smith Center.

Key Stats

GW spread its attack with four players recording at least five kills on the night. Senior Kristel Moor led the way with eight kills while freshman Marianna Warren hit .375 with seven kills, along with two digs.
Dayton also had a balanced attack and was efficient all night with a .309 attack percentage. The Flyers also totaled nine service aces.
There were 20 ties and eight lead changes throughout the match.

How It Happened
Set 1: Dayton 25, GW 23

GW had its best set of the night to open the match, hitting .417 with just three attack errors.
The Colonials held an early 5-4 lead but Dayton surged ahead with a 6-1 run to take a 10-6 lead.
The Colonials turned the momentum in their favor with a 10-4 run to take a 16-14 lead.
GW stayed out in front and led, 20-17, before Dayton used a set-ending 8-3 run to take the set.

Set 2: Dayton 25, GW 21

Dayton opened on an 8-3 run to force an early timeout.
GW responded in a big way, rattling off a 10-4 run to briefly grab a 13-12 lead.
The score remained close with each team assuming small leads until the Flyers pulled ahead late before clinching the set with a 25-21 win.

Set 3: Dayton 25, GW 12

Dayton hit .370 with just one attack error in the third set.
The Flyers opened on a 12-3 run and never looked back.
