Volleyball Wraps Road Schedule in Midwest This Weekend

LEADING OFF: The George Washington volleyball team will play its final two road matches of the regular season this weekend when it visits Saint Louis on Friday night (8 p.m. ET) before a Sunday matinee at Dayton (1 p.m.).
LAST TIME OUT: The Colonials put forth one of their finest showings of the season in a dominant 3-1 win over Davidson last Saturday at the Charles E. Smith Center.
GW committed just 15 attack errors, the lowest amount in a victory this season, while also posting a season-best, single-match mark for opponent hitting percentage (.065).
STAT SHEET STUFFER: Junior Kelsey Clark led the Colonials to victory last Saturday with a solid all-around performance. She led all players with 14 kills while swinging .367 for the night with six digs, seven blocks (two solo, five assists) and three service aces.
DIGGING UP: Freshman Sydney Welch had a great week of matches last weekend. She posted double-digit digs in all three matches while averaging 5.20 digs per set. The Louisville, Kentucky, native ranks eighth overall in the Atlantic 10 with an average of 3.84 digs per set. She is also the highest-ranked freshman libero for both total digs (334) and digs per set.
STANDINGS CHECK: The Colonials are in the hunt for a spot in the upcoming Atlantic 10 Championship, November 17-19 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The top six teams in the standings at the end of the regular season will earn a bid, with the top two teams earning byes into the semifinals.
Entering the weekend GW ranks sixth in the conference with a 3-4 record.
HOME TO STAY: GW wraps the regular season with five consecutive home matches starting on Friday, October 27 against Duquesne.
