WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's and women's swimming and diving teams wrap the regular season on Saturday afternoon at Old Dominion for a 2 p.m. meet.
The Colonials come off a stellar weekend of competition, sweeping Georgetown and Atlantic 10 foe George Mason on both the men's and women's sides. The women also battled but fell short against a strong Bowling Green squad on Friday in tri-meet action.
GW garnered three A-10 weekly awards on Tuesday as sophomore diver Jake Ortiz was named men's Performer of the Week and Jackie Torrez and Moritz Fath received women's Rookie of the Week and men's Co-Rookie of the Week honors, respectively.
Ortiz posted NCAA Zone qualifying scores on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards on Saturday while setting new program records in both events.
Fath won four events across the two meets last weekend in his collegiate debut and Torrez won three events of her own to earn her third weekly award this season.
Sophomore diver Miranda Simon also enjoyed a strong weekend on the boards, tallying an NCAA Zone qualifying score and a personal best in the 1-meter event against George Mason.
Old Dominion enters the weekend after being swept by East Carolina last Saturday. The Colonials and Monarchs will face each other for the first time since 2012.
