GW will compete in a quartet of non-conference tournaments to open the season before embarking on a 14-match Atlantic 10 conference slate.
The Colonials open the 2016 season with a trio of matches at the Cavalier Classic, hosted by the University of Virginia. GW will play a doubleheader on Friday, August 26 against Northwestern and host Virginia before facing Buffalo on Saturday.
GW continues its season-opening tournament schedule at the Seton Hall Invitational, September 2-3, with matches against the host Pirates, Towson and Canisius.
The Buff and Blue will then make a cross-country trek to Pullman, Washington, for the Cougar Classic at Washington State University. GW opens the tournament with a pair of matches on Friday, September 9 against Idaho and Washington State before a Saturday match with UMES.
The Colonials will host the annual George Washington Invitational on September 16-17 at the Charles E. Smith Center. The tournament begins with a match against James Madison on Friday before a Saturday doubleheader against Northern Illinois and Tennessee.
GW opens its Atlantic 10 Conference schedule on the road against the two teams that played for the league crown in 2015. The Colonials visit reigning champion Dayton on September 23 before visiting Saint Louis on September 25.
The Colonials return to the Smith Center to open the home portion of their conference schedule against Fordham (Sept. 30) and Rhode Island (Oct. 1) before hitting the road for four straight matches at Davidson (Oct. 7), VCU (Oct. 9), a non-conference visit to Lehigh (Oct. 11) and the #RevRivalry tilt at George Mason (Oct. 14).
GW then begins a five-match homestand on October 21 against VCU, followed by a return match against Davidson (Oct. 26). The Colonials host meetings with UMBC (Oct. 26), La Salle (Oct. 28) and Duquesne (Oct. 29) to close the month.
GW will visit Rhode Island (Nov. 4) and Fordham (Nov. 6) before concluding the regular season at home against George Mason (Nov. 12).
The Atlantic 10 Championship will be held at Saint Louis' Chaifetz Pavilion, November 18-20. The winner of the league title will receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
