WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's tennis squad concludes a stretch of three consecutive road matches over the weekend with a pair of Atlantic Region matchups when the Colonials visit No. 58 Old Dominion on Saturday and Atlantic 10 foe VCU on Sunday.
The Colonials (5-8) posted a 2-1 record last week, defeating Navy and conference opponent Richmond at home before falling to a strong James Madison squad on the road.
Sophomore Teodora Radosavljevic earned a No. 18 singles regional ranking to begin the spring and has put together a strong 2016, leading the Colonials with an 8-4 dual match record at the top spot. She won all three of her solo bouts last week and paired with senior Egle Jakuciunaite to triumph in two out of three doubles matches.
No. 58 Old Dominion (10-5) has slowly climbed in the ITA rankings this spring and owns two regionally ranked solo players in Nataliya Vlasova, who began the season with a No. 10 ranking, and Ingrid Vojcinakova, who entered 2016 at No. 20.
The Lady Monarchs have won their last three matches, including a 4-2 win over then-No. 68 Brown for its fourth win over a ranked opponent this season. The squad has won nine of its last 11 contests. ODU will host Montana on Friday before GW visits on Saturday.
Vojcinakova leads ODU with an 11-2 singles mark playing primarily at the No. 5 position this spring, while the pair of Vlasova and Nikol Hristova own a 6-2 doubles record.
Anna Rasmussen started the spring ranked No. 9 in the region for reigning A-10 champion VCU (5-9). Janina Braun owns a 9-5 singles record in dual matches while playing throughout the bottom half of the ladder. The duo of Olga Barschcheuskaya and Darya Berezhnaya leads the Rams in doubles play with a 6-2 mark at the top spot in 2016.
Last season the Colonials fell to VCU in the A-10 Championship quarterfinals, as the Rams went on to win their third consecutive conference crown.
Saturday's match at ODU's Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center is slated for 12 p.m., and first serve on Sunday at VCU's Thalhimer Tennis Center is scheduled for 2 p.m.
