GW Golf Heads to 2016 NYX Hoosier Invitational

THIS WEEK: The George Washington golf team competes in its fourth event of the spring season this weekend as it heads to Indiana University for the 2016 NYX Hoosier Invitational.
FORMAT: The 54-hole event gets underway with an 8:30 a.m. ET shotgun start on Saturday with 36 holes of continuous play. The final round on Sunday is slated to begin in another shotgun start at 9:15 a.m. ET. Live scoring is available here .
2016 NYX HOOSIER INVITATIONAL: The tournament will be played at the par-71, 6,813-yeard Indiana University Golf Course. Representing the Colonials are Logan Lowe, Lucas Farmer, Christian Cichan, Steve Piela, and Vince Palazzolo.
THE COMPETITION: The 14-team field consists of Bradley, Detroit, Drake, Eastern Kentucky, Evansville, Illinois State, Indiana, IPFW, IUPUI, Oakland, Ohio, Western Illinois and Youngstown State.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR: The Colonials will look to build off of their strong finish at the Desert Shootout, where they placed 14th and tied the lowest 54 hole total in program history. "The Desert Shootout was a big boost to our confidence," said head coach Chuck Scheinost. "To tie the lowest 54 hole total in program history and have guys realize that they could have done even more was a huge paradigm shift for our team. I know the best is yet to come."
