GW Golf Opens Play in Desert Shootout on Friday

THIS WEEK: The George Washington golf team competes in its third event of the spring season as it opens play in the Desert Shootout in Goodyear, Arizona, on Friday morning. GW is coming off a 10th-place finish at the Bash at the Beach Invitational in which freshman Logan Lowe recorded the second top-15 finish of his career by shooting 1-over par.
FORMAT: The 54-hole event gets underway with a 9:30 a.m. ET start on Friday with 36 holes of continuous play. The final round is Saturday with another 9:30 a.m. ET shotgun start. Live scoring is available here.
DESERT SHOOTOUT: The Desert Shootout will be held at the par-72, 7,015-yard Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Arizona. All nine Colonials on the roster made the trip with qualifying during the week determining the lineup.
THE COMPETITION: The 20-team field consists of Boise State, BYU, Colorado State, Columbia, Denver, Eastern Michigan, Grand Canyon, Idaho, Iowa State, Kansas, Kanas State, Northern Colorado, Nebraska, Northern Illinois, Southern Utah, Tulsa, UMKC, UNO and Wichita State.
LOOKING AHEAD: GW added an event to its spring slate, the NYX Hoosier Invitational in Bloomington, Ind., which will be played April 2-3.
