GW Women's Tennis Set for Weekend Road Trip

WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's tennis squad travels to Atlanta for a pair of weekend matches against Florida International on Saturday and host No. 67 Georgia State on Sunday.
The Colonials (3-1) swept singles play in a decisive 6-1 win over Norfolk State at the Southeast Tennis Center on Sunday.
The ITA's No. 111-ranked singles player, Teodora Radosavljevic owns a 4-0 mark in solo play at GW's top spot. Sophomore classmate Marie-Louise Decamps and rookie Sara Grubac also hold 4-0 records in singles action this season while playing primarily at the Nos. 4 and 3 spots, respectively.
The Colonials' top duo of juniors Allison Hansen and Taylor Nederlander lead GW with a 3-1 mark in doubles action so far this season.Florida International (3-1) will take on Georgia State on Friday before facing the Colonials. Nina Nagode and Andrea Lazaro lead the squad with 4-0 singles marks this spring at the Nos. 2 and 5 positions, respectively. Maryna Veksler is also off to a strong start in 2016 with a 3-0 record at the top slot.
No. 67 Georgia State (4-0) comes off a big win over No. 29 South Carolina last Saturday and is the Colonials' first ranked opponent of the season. The Panthers came back from a 3-1 deficit to claim the match, 4-3, marking the highest-ranked team Georgia State has beaten. Linn Timmerman brings a 4-0 solo record at the No. 1 position into the weekend.
Both of the weekend's matches will be played at Georgia State's Piedmont Park in Atlanta. First serve for both matches is slated for 9 a.m.
