GW Sailing Closes Fall with Atlantic Coast Championships

This Weekend: The GW sailing team closes the fall season with a pair of championship races - the coed Atlantic Coast Championship at MIT and the women's Atlantic Coast Championship at College of Charleston.
Coed ACCs: Skipper Brendan Shanahan and crew Andreea Ranney-Pace will race in A Division while skipper Andrew Sheerin and crew Briggs D'Eliscu will sail in B Division. Rhodes Garner, Mercedes McPhee and Sam White will serve as alternates. The 18-team field includes the top 13 teams in the College Sailing World coed national rankings. GW checks in at No. 12.
Women's ACCs: In A Division, skipper Miranda Bakos and crew Belle Strachan will represent GW, and skipper Riley Legault and crew Alexandra Fayer will race in B Division. Madison Oleson, Kia Olsson, Emma Mendenhall and Aitana Mendiguren will serve as alternates. Thirteen of the top-20 teams in the women's national rankings comprise the 18-team field, with the Colonials coming in ranked 16th. The top seven teams nationally are all in the field.
