GW Sailing Set to Compete in Two Regattas This Weekend

WASHINGTON â€" The George Washington sailing team returns to the water for a pair of regattas this coming weekend: The MAISA Men's Singlehanded Carl Van Duyne Trophy and the Navy Fall Women's Interconference.
GW is coming off a busy weekend in which it entered two teams at the Kings Point Dinghy Open, finishing fifth and eighth, while also coming in sixth at the Susan Roger Memorial at Cornell.
Seniors Colin Kennedy and Brendan Shanahan and sophomore Adam DiDomizio will take the field for GW at the MAISA Men's Singlehanded Carl Van Duyne Trophy at the US Merchane Marine Academy. The top four finishers will qualify for the ICSA Men's Singlehanded Nationals in November.
At the Navy Fall Women's Interconference, the Colonials will be represented by skippers Miranda Bakos, Riley Legault, and Aitana Mendiguren; and crew Belle Strachan, Madison Oleson, Emma Mendenhall, and Kia Olsson. Sophomore Sarah Alexander will compete for GW in singlehanded competition.
