GW Volleyball Hits Road for A-10 Matches

LEADING OFF: The George Washington volleyball team opens a stretch of four consecutive road matches with a trip south to take on Davidson (Fri., 7 p.m.) and VCU (Sun., 1 p.m.) in a pair of Atlantic 10 clashes this weekend.
DAVIDSON'S DOUBLES: Junior Aaliya Davidson has been on a tear across the last four matches. She has posted double-digit kills in all four A-10 outings this season and has totaled 52 kills (4.0/set) on a .364 attack percentage with 18 digs and seven blocks (two solo, five assists) during the stretch.
SWING AWAY: The Colonials continue to be one of the top-attacking teams in the Atlantic 10, ranking second overall with a team hitting percentage of .223 and fourth with 12.53 kills per set. Senior Chidima Osuchukwu paces the Colonials in both categories, swinging .354 with an average of 3.12 kills per set.
CHICH ON THE BLOCK: Osuchukwu, one of the most prolific blockers in GW history, leads the Atlantic 10 with 21 solo rejections this season while ranking fourth overall with 75 total blocks. She is also averaging 1.29 blocks per set, a value that ranks third in the A-10 and 38th in the nation.
Osuchukwu ranks third all-time at GW with 132 solo blocks and fourth overall with 384 block assists.
SCOUTING DAVIDSON: The Wildcats enter the weekend with a 5-11 overall record and a 1-2 mark in A-10 matches. Davidson is the top-blocking team in the conference, averaging 2.79 per set (178.5 total), and split last weekend's matches with a 3-2 win over La Salle and a 3-2 loss at Duquesne.
SCOUTING VCU: The Rams will host George Mason on Friday evening ahead of Sunday's matinee. VCU is 11-8 overall with a 2-1 mark in conference play after splitting last weekend's matches at Duquesne (L, 3-1) and La Salle (W, 3-0).
Four players have posted 100+ kills for the Rams this season, led by Alicia Kandler (167) and Julia Adler (157).
