- With Wednesday's victory, the Colonials maintain a perfect record at home against the Rams, as GW is now 23-0 all-time at the Smith Center versus URI.
- GW improves to 2-0 in the Atlantic 10 for the third year in a row. The Colonials are 20-1 against A-10 opponents since last season, including conference tournament games.
- The Colonials extended their win streak to seven, dating back to Dec. 6 at Memphis. It marks GW's fourth winning streak of seven or more games since the 2013-14 season.
- Senior Jonquel Jones and junior Caira Washington recorded double-doubles in the same game for the fourth time this season and the 13th time in their careers as Jones led all players with 19 points and 17 rebounds, while Washington posted 15 points and 10 boards. Jones' double-double was her 12th of the season, ranking second in the nation, while her 15.2 boards per contest are tops in the country.
- Jones surpassed Marise James ('79) to move into fourth place on GW's all-time rebounding list with 853 as a Colonial, while her 933 career rebounds rank ninth among active Division I players.
- The Colonials have won the battle of the boards in all 15 contests this season and in 46-of-48 game since the start of last year after a dominating 56-30 rebounding advantage over the Rams on Wednesday. GW leads the Atlantic 10 and ranks second in the nation with an average rebounding margin of +18.7. The Colonials continue to lead the nation with 52.1 boards per game.
- Junior Hannah Schaible's 10 rebounds gave GW three players with double-digit caroms for the first time since Dec. 31, 2013 against Bluefield State.
- For the sixth game in a row, GW made more foul shots than its opponent attempted, as the Colonials hit 22-of-30 from the line, paced by Jones' perfect 7-for-7 effort, compared to the Rams' 6-for-10 afternoon. GW's 73.3 percent from the charity stripe marked a season high.
- GW's size forced URI to shoot from the outside, leading to the Rams' 6-for-31 performance from deep and allowing the Colonials to hold a 36-20 advantage on points in the paint.
- GW's defense has been dominant over the last four games. The Colonials have held Illinois, Hartford, Saint Joseph's and Rhode Island to just 51.3 points on 30.1 percent from the field, including 17.6 percent from deep.
- After her 15-point effort on Wednesday, Washington is just eight points shy of 1,000 in her career.
Quotable
"It's important that we serve as role models, both on and off the court. Our players have been to every one of those schools, and some of these kids may have taken pictures with our players or know their names and numbers. The team loves that, and we love the opportunities that we get to serve as role models." -Head coach Jonathan Tsipis on Field Trip Day
