WASHINGTON -- The George Washington volleyball team has announced its full promotional schedule for upcoming home matches at the Charles E. Smith Center.
The home opener will be on Tuesday, September 1, against Oregon and will feature a pregame reception in the Colonials Club. Fans can enjoy free pizza and soft drinks while enjoying the first Chalk Talk session of the season, at which fifth-year head coach Amanda Ault will preview the upcoming match with an inside look at the Colonials' game plan.
Additional Chalk Talk dates include September 4 vs. UC Davis, September 25 vs. George Mason, October 10 vs. Dayton and October 21 vs. American.
Day one of the annual George Washington Invitational on Friday, September 4, will feature a pair of promotions. Admission will be free for all, and bagels and coffee will be free to the first 100 GW students, faculty and staff ahead of the 10:00 a.m. match against Princeton.
Later that evening, at 7:30 p.m. against UC Davis, GW will welcome members of Potomac Elite Volleyball and alumni of the Colonials' own Adult Clinics for College Colors Day.
The schedule is highlighted by the GW Volleyball 40th Anniversary celebration on September 25 against George Mason. Taking place during Alumni Weekend, the Colonials will open its Atlantic 10 schedule and renew the Revolutionary Rivalry by hosting the Patriots. There will be a special pregame reception for GW Volleyball alumni as the program celebrates its 40th anniversary of its inaugural season in 1975.
The Colonials will host their annual Dig Pink match on Saturday, October 24, against Fordham. The annual match raises funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer.
Senior Day will be celebrated on October 24 against Fordham. GW will honor the quartet of Maddy Doyle, Maggie Skjelbred, Jordan Timmer and Natalie Leger at the conclusion of the match against the Rams.
The promotional schedule is subject to change.
