GW Sailing Places Four on ICSA All-Academic Team

McNomme, a rising senior studying finance, business, economics and public policy, earned a 3.34 GPA in 2014-15 while helping lead GW's women's sailing team to its first-ever appearance at Nationals and a 13th place finish nationwide.
Murphy, a 2015 graduate, notched a 3.72 GPA last year while studying international affairs and journalism/mass communication. Murphy, along with fellow ICSA honoree and 2015 graduate Jenn Wilson, also played a pivotal role in the Colonials' run to Women's Nationals. Wilson compiled a 3.57 GPA last year studying biology and psychology.
Ricci topped the group with a 3.81 GPA in biological anthropology and will continue his studies at GW in Medical School this fall.
The All-Academic Sailing Team recognizes collegiate sailors who have achieved excellence in national and inter-conference competition while excelling at the highest academic level during the 2014-15 academic year. To be recognized, honorees must have been a junior or senior, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale, and be a starter or key reserve in at least seven university sponsored regattas.
A seven-person committee comprised of representatives from conferences in the ICSA evaluated the nominated sailors. This year's All-Academic Team is comprised of 173 members across the country.
