WASHINGTON - Infielder Ashley Schnarrs of Herndon, Virginia, will join the George Washington softball team's incoming class for the 2016 season, head coach Stacey Schramm announced.
A two-time All-Conference First Team selection for Herndon High School, Schnarrs is a versatile player with experience in both the infield and outfield who owns a lively bat, wrapping her senior season with a .475 batting average. As a sophomore, Schnarrs helped her squad to a regular-season conference championship.
"Ashley is very athletic and will provide depth at all of the infield positions," said Coach Schramm. "I have had the pleasure of working with her at our camps and clinics, and the main characteristic that shines above all others is that she is very coachable. There is no doubt that she'll work her way into an impactful role on the team because she is willing to get out of her comfort zone and try new things."
Schnarrs also plays for the Virginia Outlaws club team. She joins an incoming freshman class that already includes Riley Tejcek and Jayme Cone, who previously signed National Letters of Intent to become Colonials.
