WASHINGTON - The George Washington softball squad continues Atlantic 10 conference play with a three-game weekend set at Massachusetts. The Colonials will play a pair of games on Friday and conclude the series with a single game on Saturday at the Minutewomen's Sortino Field in Amhert.
GW (16-13, 0-4 A-10) enters the weekend after two mid-week wins behind a pair of complete game victories from sophomore Paige Kovalsky. UMass (6-15, 1-5 A-10) comes off a 16-6 triumph over Yale on Wednesday, snapping a three-game skid.

Senior Victoria Valos ranks second in batting average for the Buff and Blue with a .373 mark, and has hit a team-best .591 in the eight games since conference play began on March 22, with 13 hits, six runs scored and three home runs.
Junior Carlee Gray leads all Colonials at .376 while legging out a team-high four triples on the year, the first of Gray's career.
In the circle, freshman Sarah Costlow has shouldered the bulk of GW's innings, tossing 116.0 frames en route to an 11-11 record, while Kovalsky claims a 5-0 mark in 58.1 innings of work.
The Buff and Blue look to notch their first conference victory, as the Colonials were swept in a pair of weather-shortened series by La Salle and St. Bonaventure.
UMass' Quianna Diaz-Patterson leads the A-10 with a .508 season average, scoring a team-high 19 runs while batting in 15 for the Minutewomen. In the circle, Caroline Raymond holds a 4-9 record while tossing eight complete games in 72.2 innings of work.
Massachusetts' lone conference win came over George Mason on March 22 after falling in the first two games of the series. The Minutewomen were swept by St. Joseph's in a three-game set last weekend in Philadelphia.
GW has won twice in 22 tries against the Minutewomen, most recently sweeping UMass in 2013 to notch the first-ever victories in the all-time series. Last season's series was cancelled due to rain.
First pitch in Friday's doubleheader is scheduled for 12 p.m., and Saturday's single game will also begin at noon.
