GW Softball Adds Monday Doubleheader

WASHINGTON - The George Washington softball team will host Delaware State in a newly scheduled doubleheader on Monday at the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy. The Colonial Classic, originally scheduled for March 6-8, was cancelled due to unplayable field conditions.
The Colonials (5-8) scored 26 runs last weekend while splitting a doubleheader, defeating Iona, 13-2, in five innings before dropping the nightcap to UNC-Greensboro, 15-13.
Freshman Morgan Rinehart batted .571 (4-for-7) with four runs scored and six RBIs while posting a team-high 1.286 slugging percentage en route to earning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors.
Delaware State (1-8) last played at North Carolina Central's Eagle Challenge on Feb. 13-14, where the Hornets went 1-3, splitting a pair of games with the host Eagles and falling to Virginia and Omaha.
The Buff and Blue will meet Delaware State for the first time in spring action.
First pitch is slated for 10:30 a.m. at the Nationals Youth Baseball Academy, located at 3675 Ely Place SE, Washington, DC. Fans can follow along with live stats for game one , and game two .
