WASHINGTON - GW sailing embarks on its first of seven consecutive weekends of regattas with the St. Mary's Women's Intersectional and Washington College Team Race on March 21-22.
The Colonials will compete in at least one regatta every weekend between now and the first weekend of May at the America Trophy MAISA Coed Championship in Norfolk, Virginia.

B Division: skipper Miranda Bakos and crew Meagan Murphy, with alternate skipper Maria Sinagra
"The St Mary's Women's will be one of the most competitive women's regattas of the spring season with a top notch national field of teams," said Head Coach John Pearce. "St Mary's is also the location of the MAISA Women's Championships on April 25-26, so this weekend is a key time for us to scout the venue and get used to the conditions."
All but one of the 18 teams competing at St. Mary's were either ranked or receiving votes in the most recent Sailing World women's college rankings from the fall season, including 12 of the top 15 teams.

"The Washington College Team Cace is a regional MAISA regatta and we will be gunning for the win after finishing second at the GW Team Race and third at USF earlier this season," added Coach Pearce. The Colonials will compete against host Washington College along with Cornell, Hobart and William Smith, Merchant Marine and Webb Institute.
