GW Softball Joins Weekend Tournament

WASHINGTON - The George Washington softball team has joined the South Carolina Blue & Gold Challenge and will play four games over the weekend at the Oak Grove Sports Complex in Lexington, South Carolina.
The Colonials (4-7) are slated to take on Iona (0-0) and UNC Greensboro (5-3) in doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday.
GW trails UNC Greensboro all-time, 3-2, most recently dropping a pair of games earlier this season.
The Buff and Blue lead the Iona Gaels, 2-1 all-time, with a 5-1 loss in the last meeting in 2013.
The Colonials will start the weekend on Saturday with a 6:15 p.m. matchup against Iona, followed by a game with UNC Greensboro for the nightcap.
On Sunday, GW will again see Iona, this time at 11 a.m. before taking on UNC Greensboro to wrap up the weekend at 3:30 p.m.
