
GW Gymnastics Extends Unbeaten Streak with Win Over Bowling Green

WASHINGTON - The George Washington gymnastics team defeated Bowling Green, 194.775-193.025 to move to 9-0 on the season and clinch its best start in program history on Sunday afternoon at the Charles E. Smith Center.
GW posted team marks of 48.95 on vault, 48.65 on uneven bars, 48.20 on balance beam and 48.975 on floor exercise.
The Colonials swept the all-around podium as freshman Cami Drouin-Allaire took first place with a sore of 39.075. She finished in second place on vault with a score of 9.80 and added a 9.75 on uneven bars for third place. She also scored 9.725 on balance beam (T-4th) and 9.80 on floor exercise (T-2nd).
Sophomore Chelsea Raineri had a standout performance, finishing in second place in the all-around with a career-high score of 38.90. The Telford, Pennsylvania native won both the vault and floor exercise titles with identical scores of 9.90. It marked the third time in her career she has cracked 9.90 on vault and the second time in two seasons she has hit the mark on floor exercise. She also set a new career-high on balance beam with a 9.50 (9th) and added a 9.60 on uneven bars (7th).
Finishing in third place in the all-around was freshman Jillian Winstanley with a score of 38.80. Her total was comprised of 9.775 on vault (T-3rd), a first-place performance on uneven bars with 9.825, 9.475 on balance beam (10th) and 9.725 on floor exercise.
Sophomore Alex DeMoura took second place on uneven bars with a 9.775 and added a 9.70 on vault (T-7th) and 9.75 on floor exercise (6th).
Senior Elena Corcoran tied for third place on vault with 9.775 while junior Taylor Redmond placed fifth on uneven bars with a score of 9.70.
Freshman Liz Pfeiler scored 9.80 on balance beam to claim sole possession of second place.
GW will embark on a West Coast road trip next weekend. The Colonials will visit Sacramento State on Friday at 7:00 p.m. PT before facing UC Davis on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. PT.
