GW Volleyball Clinches No. 4 Seed in A-10 Championship

WASHINGTON - The George Washington volleyball team, with its 9-5 conference record, has clinched the No. 4 seed in next weekend's Atlantic 10 Championship to be held at the Charles E. Smith Center from Nov. 20-22.
GW (20-10, 9-5 A-10), which won 20 matches for the second straight season following Saturday's sweep of La Salle, will face No. 5 VCU in the first round at 5 p.m. on Friday.
The Colonials rallied from a 2-1 deficit to knock off VCU, 3-2, in Richmond, Virginia, on Oct. 2.
The Colonials are 19-24 all-time in the Atlantic 10 Championship after advancing to the title match last season. GW is seeking its fifth A-10 championship after earning titles in 1993, 1994, 1995 and 2000.
No. 1 seed Dayton and No. 2 seed Saint Louis will each receive first-round byes in the A-10 Championship and await the winners of Friday's first-round matches in Saturday's semifinals.
No. 3 Rhode Island will face No. 6 Duquesne in the other first-round matchup on Friday at 7 p.m.
