Golf to Compete at Wolfpack Fall Intercollegiate

THIS WEEK: The GW golf team is set to compete in the Wolfpack Fall Intercollegiate on Monday, Oct. 5 and Tuesday, Oct. 6. The Colonials will be represented by redshirt sophomore Christian Cichan, freshman Logan Lowe, junior Lucas Farmer, sophomore Vince Palazzolo and junior Michael Heda.
WOLFPACK INTERCOLLEGIATE: The tournament will be held at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, North Carolina, a par-71, 7,358-yard course. Teams will play 18 holes Monday with an 11:30 a.m. shotgun start and 18 more Tuesday starting at 8 a.m. Live scoring can be followed at golfstat.com.
THE COMPETITION: The 16-team field includes host N.C. State as well as Augusta University, Campbell, Chattanooga, Drexel, Hartford, Lipscomb, Loyola (Md.), Seton Hall, Temple, UNC-Greensboro, USC Upstate, Western Carolina, Wofford and West Virginia.
LEADING THE WAY: At the Mark Simpson Invitational Sept. 28-29, Cichan led the GW contingent with a 13th-place finish after shooting 4-over par in the three-round tournament. The redshirt sophomore, who transferred to GW from Purdue, opened the tournament with an even-par 70 before shooting 72 in the second and third rounds. It marked the second straight tournament GW saw a newcomer finish in the top 15, as freshman Logan Lowe recorded a t-15th at the Rutgers Invitational on Sept. 12.
LOOKING AHEAD: Following play in the Wolfpack Fall Intercollegiate, the Colonials will take a two-and-a-half week break from tournament competition before heading to El Paso, Texas, to play in the Price's "Give `em Five" Invitational.
