No. 25 GW Gymnastics Remains Perfect With Tri-Meet Win

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. - The No. 25 George Washington gymnastics team totaled 195.025 to defeat No. 23 Iowa State and West Virginia, improving to 8-0 on the season, in Sunday's tri-meet victory at the WVU Coliseum.
GW eclipsed the 195.00 mark for the second consecutive meet while freshman Cami Drouin-Allaire tied for first place on vault to lead the Colonials.
Drouin-Allaire tied for third in the all-around with classmate Jillian Winstanley with identical scores of 39.100. Drouin-Allaire earned a share of the vault title with a 9.875 and added scores of 9.65 on uneven bars (T-13th), 9.775 on balance beam (T-6th) and 9.80 on floor exercise (T-4th).
Winstanley's all-around score was comprised of a 9.75 on vault (T-12th), 9.775 on uneven bars (T-3rd), 9.825 on balance beam (T-2nd) and 9.75 on floor exercise (T-9th).
Senior Elena Corcoran took third place on vault with a score of 9.85 and added a 9.60 on balance beam (T-11th) and 9.65 on floor exercise (9.65).
Freshman Liz Pfelier tied for second on balance beam with Winstanley with a 9.85 while freshman Sara Mermelstein tied with Drouin-Allaire for sixth on the event with a 9.775.
Sophomore Chelsea Raineri, the reigning East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Specialist of the Week, had another strong weekend. She tied for sixth on vault (9.80) while scoring 9.70 on uneven bars (11th) and 9.775 on floor exercise (T-6th).
GW returns home on Sunday, February 1, to host Bowling Green for the annual Brownie & Girl Scout Meet at 1:00 p.m.
