GW Volleyball Hosts Georgetown on Tuesday Night

WASHINGTON - The George Washington volleyball team will conclude the home portion of its non-conference schedule by hosting Georgetown on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Charles E. Smith Center.
GW (6-3) leads the all-time series against Georgetown (6-3), 35-29, and has won five of the past seven meetings.
Senior Kelsey Newman and sophomore Chidima Osuchukwu were each named to the All-Tournament Team at this past weekend's Colonials Challenge at the Smith Center. The Colonials went 1-2 at the tournament with a win over Columbia and losses to Baylor and Southern Illinois.
GW ranks first in the Atlantic 10 in team kills per set (14.93), blocks per set (2.68) and digs per set (18.10) and is second in hitting percentage (.236) and opponent hitting percentage (.172).
Individually, junior Jordan Timmer paces the conference with 11.66 assists per set while junior Maddy Doyle leads the A-10 in digs with 4.87 per set.
Georgetown has won four of its last five matches heading into Tuesday's match and has notched wins over Presbyterian, Hampton, Penn, Colgate, Howard and George Mason this season. Lauren Saar paces the Hoyas' attack with a team-leading 100 kills on the season while Terese Cannon and Dani White have totaled 89 and 82 winners, respectively.
Following Tuesday's match the Colonials will compete in their final non-conference tournament of the season at the Valparaiso Crossroads of America Classic. GW will face Sacramento State on Friday at 4:30 p.m. before a Saturday doubleheader against Murray State (10:00 a.m.) and the host Crusaders (7:00 p.m.).
