GW (10-10, 5-1 A-10) has won five straight matches entering the weekend, its longest streak since winning five in a row in the second half of the 2011 season, and is one of three one-loss teams in the Atlantic 10 along with Duquesne (12-8, 6-1 A-10) and VCU.
Last weekend, the Colonials hit a combined .317 in a straight-sets victory at La Salle and a 3-1 triumph over George Mason in the inaugural event in the Revolutionary Rivalry.
Senior Rachael Goss led the Colonials with 24 kills in the two matches while freshman Chidima Osuchukwu hit a blistering .741 with 22 kills against two attack errors.
Osuchukwu set a new program record in Saturday's win over George Mason as her .765 hitting percentage (14k-1e-17a) was the best attack rate in GW history during a four-set match. The Virginia Beach, Va., native currently ranks first in the Atlantic 10 and 57th in Division I with a .366 attack percentage and eighth in the conference with an average of 1.13 blocks per set.
The Colonials lead the all-time series against Duquesne, 33-12, but have lost five of the last seven meetings.
Duquesne also carries a five-match win streak into Friday's match after conference wins over Rhode Island (2x), Fordham (2x) and Saint Louis.
The Dukes are the top attacking team in the Atlantic 10 with a .223 team hitting percentage while junior Arielle Love ranks behind Osuchukwu with a .351 attack percentage in addition to a team-best 185 kills.
George Mason (6-15, 2-5 A-10) will host Rhode Island on Friday night ahead of Sunday's Revolutionary Rivalry rematch. Sunday's match marks the third event in the year-round series between the two local rivals.
The Colonials lead the all-time series over the Patriots, 31-8.
