WASHINGTON - The George Washington volleyball program will host a series of summer camps at the Foggy Bottom Campus this summer. Overnight camps will run July 20-22 while day camps will run from July 17-19.
The camps are open to players of all ages and skill levels. All camps will be held at the Charles E. Smith Center and the Lerner Health and Wellness Center on GW's Foggy Bottom Campus and are open to all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level, and/or gender). All resident campers will stay in the dorms on the Foggy Bottom campus at GW, just a short walk from both the Smith Center and HellWell.
The overnight camps begin on Friday, July 20 and will feature two groups - Colonial General Skills Camp ($365 resident, $290 commuter) or the GW Elite Camp ($365, $290).
The Elite Camp focuses on perfecting an athlete's skills in their position (liberos, setters, outside attackers, middles). At the conclusion of the camp the positions will be brought together to form teams that will compete in the GW Elite Camp Tournament.
The General Skills camp will host five skill sessions on the fundamentals of volleyball: serving, passing, attacking, blocking, setting/floor defense. Campers will compete in the inaugural Colonial General Skills Camp Tournament.
There will be four day-camp sessions ($115 each) with each focusing on a different aspect of the game. July 17 will serve as the All Skills Day Camp followed by Libero Day Camp (July 18), Beginning Skills Day Camp (July 18) and Setter/Hitter Day Camp (July 19).
