Freshman Jack Persons leads the Colonials, as he is tied for eighth out of 69 golfers with a two-round total of 3-over 147 after shooting a 2-over in the first round and 1-over in the second. The GW 'A' team is in fourth place with a score of 602 after hitting 301 in both rounds, while the GW 'B' team is in ninth with a two-round total of 619 on the par-72, 6,834-yard course
Penn leads the pack with a two-round score of 579, and the Quakers' Max Marsico (2-under 142) and Scott Williams (even-par 144) hold onto first and second, respectively.
Four seniors round out GW's top-five performances on the day. Martin Liu follows closely behind Persons in a tie for 11th with a two-round total of 5-over 149. Liu led all players after the first 18 holes with a score of 2-under 70.
Classmate Andres Pumariega is tied for 17th with a two-round score of 6-over 150, and Brandon Rukin sits in a tie for 26th with a total of 8-over 152. Senior Taylor Fuqua and sophomore Graham Lawyer are tied for 34th after shooting a 10-over 154.
GW returns to the links on Saturday morning for the final 18 holes of the tournament. Teams will tee off in a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
