GW Women's Tennis' Run Ends at ITA Atlantic Regional

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The George Washington women's tennis team wrapped up fall action at the 2012 USTA/ITA Atlantic Regional, hosted by Virginia Tech on Sunday afternoon, by falling in singles and doubles at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.

The doubles pair of senior Mimi Hamling and freshman Lana Robins fell in the round of eight to Virginia's Maci Epstein and Erin Vierra - the tournament's seventh-seeded duo - 8-2. Vierra is ranked No. 20 by the ITA with alternate doubles partner Hana Tomljanovic.
Robins, who worked her way to Round 2 of the main draw with three straight singles victories, fell to the tournament's No. 1 seed and nationally ranked No. 52 Petra Januskova of Penn State, 6-1, 6-2. Junior Leah Pascarella then dropped a 6-4, 6-4 decision to the Nittany Lions' Chelsea Utting.
The Colonials return to action in January following a winter break.
