Saturday's Game: GW (16-13, 9-6 A-10) hosts Dayton (19-11, 7-8 A-10) for the only regular-season meeting this season.
• Saturday's game is GW's `Senior Day' and features a pregame ceremony to recognize seniors Jabari Edwards, Joseph Katuka, and senior team manager, Carol Vergis.
• GW has won five of its last seven games and six of the last nine.
• Saturday's game marks the 27th meeting between the teams in a series that dates back to 1996. Dayton joined the A-10 in 1995-96. GW leads the all-time series, 14-12, but have dropped four of the last five meetings to the Flyers.
• GW's last victory over Dayton at Smith Center was three years ago on Feb. 9, 2008 (57-54).
• The Flyers are 5-5 on the road this season while GW is 8-6 at home.
• Dayton is coming off a 69-51 loss to Saint Louis Wednesday at UD Arena. UD's Chris Wright led all players with 21 points. UD shot 33.3 percent from the field but just 1-7 three-pointers.
• GW is coming off a 66-55 victory over Rhode Island Wednesday at the Ryan Center. GW shot 48.1 percent from the field, but just 1-of-13 from three-point range. GW forced 19 Ram turnovers.
• GW has been without its top returning scorer from last season, soph. G Lasan Kromah, for the entire 2010-11 season due to a preseason foot injury.
A Closer Look at Dayton: The 2010 NIT champion Flyers enter Saturday's game with a 19-11 overall mark, 7-8 in the A-10 under eighth-year head coach Brian Gregory. Dayton is led by Chris Wright's 13.0 ppg and 8.3 rebounds and Chris Johnson's 11.9 points per game. For the season, Dayton is shooting 40.3 percent from the field, 34.1 percent from three-point range and 68.6 percent from the line. UD averages 66.9 points a game and is outrebounding opponents by nearly five caroms a game. Dayton has wins over Ole Miss, Seton Hall, George Mason and New Mexico this season.
Next Game: GW hosts a first-round game in the A-10 Championship on Tuesday, Mar. 8. Depending upon the outcome of today's games, GW will host either Charlotte, Saint Joseph's, Saint Louis or La Salle.
