BRONX, NY - The George Washington women's basketball team plays its second road game in less than three days when it visits Fordham and venerable Rose Hill Gym Saturday at 1:00 pm. The Colonials have never lost to the Rams in 16 previous meetings, including a perfect 7-0 mark at Rose Hill, which opened 86 years ago this week.

GW (5-12, 0-3 A-10) enters Saturday's contest having lost eight consecutive games, which equals the program's longest skid set during non-conference play last season. GW is also seeking its first victory away from Charles E. Smith Center this season, having lost six road games and three neutral site matchups.
GW will have at most nine players available Saturday as Kye Allums (concussion symptoms), Megan Nipe (knee) and Shi-Heria Shipp (knee) are injured and did not travel with the team, and Erica Chandler (foot) is unavailable. Kristin Aldridge (shoulder) will be a game-time decision, but Danni Jackson (knee) is expected to return after missing Wednesday's game at Dayton.
In the most recent series meeting, GW got an important league victory that helped secure a spot in the 2010 A-10 Championship with a 56-47 victory over Fordham at Charles E. Smith Center. Tiana Myers scored 12 of her 16 points in the second half and Sara Mostafa posted her second straight double-double with 13 points and 10 boards to lead the Colonials. Tied at 37-37 with 8:33 left, GW closed the game with a 19-10 run, which included a 10-3 spurt that began with 2:07 remaining, to keep its unbeaten 16-0 record against Fordham intact.
In its most recent outing Wednesday, junior Tiana Myers led GW's nine available players with a career-high 24 points, but Dayton finished the final eight minutes with an 18-9 run to hand the Colonials their eighth straight loss, 80-64, at UD Arena Wednesday night. Myers made 10-of-14 field goals, including 3-of-4 from behind the three-point arc, to score the most points by a Colonials player this season. Brooke Wilson capped a 7-0 run with a three pointer with 3:22 left in the first half to give the Colonials a 34-32 lead. However, the Flyers scored the final eight points of the half and led 40-34 at intermission. UD extended its run to 11-0 to open the second half, but GW clawed back within a possession of the lead four times during a 13-5 spurt that made it 48-47 with 13:27 left. The Flyers then went on a 23-8 run - including a pair of 9-0 spurts - to take control at 71-55 with 6:18 to play.
Fordham (9-10, 1-2 A-10) has been idle for a week following a 71-28 drubbing to Temple at Rose Hill last Saturday. The Rams opened league play with a 69-54 win over La Salle before falling at Charlotte, 74-41.
Tiffany Stokes was the only Rams player to score more than four points against the Owls with her 15-point, 12-rebound double-double. Stokes made 4-of-11 field goals in that game, while the rest of the team finished 6-of-34 from the floor as FU shot just 22 percent.
Over its last two league games, Fordham is shooting just 27.8 percent from the field (27-97) and 17.1 percent from behind the three-point arc (6-35).
Stokes leads FU with 12.7 points and 7.3 rebounds through three league games and averages 10.4 points and a team-high 7.4 rebounds on the season. Caitlin Shadbolt is the team's leading scorer at 13.5 points on 47.6 percent shooting in Fordham's first 10 games, but has missed the last nine games. Becky Peters, who has started all 19 games, averages 13.3 points and leads FU with 32 three pointers.
Fordham is 24th nationally in three-point field goal defense (26.7%), with opponents making just 3.7 triples per game. However, opponents fare much better inside the arc against the Rams, who feature no player taller than 6-foot-1, by shooting 44.4 percent (341-768) from two-point range.
GW and FU have one common opponent so far this season in Stony Brook. FU posted an 81-73 neutral-site victory over the Seawolves Nov. 13, while GW drubbed SBU, 69-49, in the District Dec. 11.
