Women's Tennis Drops Tough Match to Campbell, 4-3

LILLINGTON, NC -- Sophomore Jacqueline Corba extended her No. 1 singles win-streak to four on Tuesday, in straight sets (6-3, 6-0) in the George Washington women's tennis team 4-3 road loss to Campbell. GW evened their record to 6-6 on the season.
Freshman Mimi Hamling won in three sets at No. 2 singles (6-7, 6-1, 6-2) over Campbell's Cristina Garcia.
Meg Tyner defeated her Campbell opponent in straight sets (6-3, 6-0) at No. 5 singles for the Colonials.
Head Coach Dawn Buth shook up the doubles line up, resting usual No. 1 doubles pair Zoe Krohn and Hamling. Corba and Sasha Gluck got the nod to play at No. 1 doubles for the Colonials with the pair defeating Ana Surviladze and Garcia (8-6).
The Colonials doubles pairs at No. 2 and No. 3 saw some new faces teamed together. Tyner played with Dorota Lysienia, falling 8-5. Senior Michele Style and freshman Hilary Kustoff saw their first action of spring in the No. 3 doubles match, with the pair falling 8-4.
GW has some time off before taking on Atlantic 10 rival St. Bonaventure on Saturday, March 27, at the Mount Vernon Tennis Facility.
